Somehow, dream logic added the knowledge of a disease-causing particle called a virus to the inhabitants of Gensokyo. This, combined with an increased rate of youkai birth, resulted in Acytota, a youkai virus.	通过某种方式，梦逻辑将一种名为病毒的致病微粒的知识赋予了幻想乡的居民。有了这份知识的存在，加之以妖怪诞生率的增长，埃塞托塔，一只病毒妖怪，就这样产生了。
Acytota's reason for being as a youkai is straightforward: create more viruses. She can't do this by herself, having to absorb energy from other living beings to assemble them. She'll seize without a second thought any opportunity that crosses her path to get close enough to others to steal the required energy. Effortlessly matching her tactics to specific people and situations, she can appear to have a completely different personality from one moment to the next.	作为妖怪，埃塞托塔存在的意义很简单：让病毒增殖。她并不能独力完成此事，因为要组装病毒，她必须从别的生物身上汲取能量。因此，一旦机会来临，她就会不假思索地接近他人，来窃取所需的能量。根据具体的对象与情形，她能轻松地拟定相应的对策，为此，她的个性也可能瞬息万变。
Despite these devious machinations, it appears that she isn't terribly successful at creating viruses. Perhaps her strategies need more work, or maybe she's unconsciously holding herself back because of that thing where dream logic's made people nicer? Over the course of the dream logic incident, Acytota was outwitted (and outgunned) by all of her potential victims, leading to a sense of existential disappointment. What was the point of dream logic bringing her into existence if she couldn't fulfill her reason for being? Aya explained to her, though, that Gensokyo is meant to be a place where humans and youkai can live in a symbiotic relationship. Everyone must learn to channel their desires in a way that preserves that balance. Acytota didn't need to create as many viruses as possible; she just needed some kind of adversarial relationship with humans. Even if the "adversarial" part was something as casual and safe as fighting with danmaku or giving people a good, harmless scare. Or, as Katerina suggested, warning them about the importance of maintaining good health habits.
